Instructions For the Blog

Hey students,

This is our blog for this semester's independent novels. If you have had me before, you know how this works. If you haven't, I'll explain it now.

Each of you will read a novel of your choice from the Modern Lit. era.  https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/modern-literature . This link is a website to help you pick out a book.

Once you have picked out a book, I want you to read one hour a week. We will calculate your average words per minute so you will know about how many pages you have to read a week.

After you have read the pages, you will write a 500 word blog post on what you thought of the reading. This is not a summary of the text, but your feelings about the text. IT IS OKAY NOT TO LIKE A BOOK. This is normal. Just tell me what you think.

Remeber: These are blogs, not essays. While I do not want ttfn's and lol's, it does not need to be very formal. If you want to say a book is cool, that is fine; just explain why.

You also need to comment on two other classmates blogs. These should be thoughtful comments of two or three sentences. It helps to pose a question back to the writer.
